rabbit, the debut full-length album from Philadelphia-based artist Beatrix Thorn is out now on Spring Garden Records. The album was recorded throughout 2025-2026 with Starkey doing most of the recording sessions and producing, mixing and mastering the project. Additional recordings included work from regular collaborators, Dave Klyman (additional engineering: percussion, bass) and Christopher Michael Stevens (horn arrangements and performance).
The label's press release states ".... the pair transformed Beatrix Thorn’s original singer-songwriter piano ballads into rabbit, a richly varied collection of 13 immersive tracks. Moving between New Orleans-inspired jazz, esoteric electronic pop, and anthemic love songs, the album expands the emotional scope of the original compositions while retaining the intimacy at their core. Starkey’s production weaves together the album’s various genres seamlessly, while focusing all attention on Thorn’s vivid musical narratives.
